Trace and Julius helped me raise the roof, so to speak on my PeaHouse. Laura, Trace, Matty and I worked the design out.

The structure is 10'x10'x4' at the base and the pyramid is 12' along the corners. I don't know how tall it is going to be yet, because I've not decided how much the pyramid is going to overlap the base yet. The entire frame is made from wood and metal fittings held together with clevis pins in custom drilled holes. The base section will be covered with plywood. The top section will be covered with canvas and will have a venting fan at the top (the apex will be above the fan and outside the canvas).

The next thing I need to do is get the rest of the clevis pins to finish off the frame, find the canvas I'm going to use, and make the cover for the top section.

Pre-fabrication is a good thing, you don't want to be building on the playa.

Here are all the pieces you need to build your very own PeaHouse

Corner pieces are 4x4 posts with Simpson StrongTie brackets to support the 2x4's

We made a template out of 2x4's to allow us to drill all the holes in the fittings for the clevis pins.

Here is the base completely assembled.

Here's what a corner bracket looks like with the borders and clevis pins. This should be VERY easy to reassemble on the playa.

Here I am holding the apex of the pyramid before we raise it up.

Here's the apex after it was raised. It also uses clevis pins.

Here's the completed structure. If you look closely you can see some clamps holding it together. I have more clevis pins on order. They ran out! :-(
